Service was impeccable, the food was delectable, cocktails were perfectly executed, any and all questions about the food and drink pairings were answered clearly and completely. This is very much an upscale restaurant and they do not disappoint. They occasionally change menus based on season and ingredient availability, making Hunter House & Gardens worth going to throughout the year. I had the bison meatloaf and it is without a doubt the best meatloaf I have had. Portions are also plentiful, I had more than enough for leftovers. The St Louis style ribs were fantastic, the sauce was the perfect combination of sweet and tangy. The jumbo shrimp cocktail is totally worth it as well, it features a house made tequila cocktail sauce that is second to none. Also tried the charcuterie as well. The meat and cheese selections were excellent and are also rotating so you can get something new going throughout the year. The wait staff is great, Noah knew everything about all of their dishes and had excellent wine and cocktail pairing recommendations. I would not hesitate to visit again for a date night, celebration, hosting an event, really just any occasion to go to a nice restaurant is a reason to visit Hunter House & Gardens.

Visited the Hunter House last night for the first time with friends, and it exceeded expectations. I feel so fortunate to have discovered a true gem in the community and I am already planning my next visit. The home is stunning and pure essence, in every sense. The staff, food and drinks were top notch. For the holidays, they have a Pop Up bar that we thoroughly enjoyed as well. If you are looking for a one of a kind experience, this place is it.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful and romantic experience here! I had the scallops and grits, which I highly recommend, he had the lamb lollipops. The food was amazing, fresh and full of flavor. He said the lamb lollipops were the best he’s ever had. Our server, Darla, was very professional, polite and friendly. She was very attentive to us and made sure our dining experience was nothing less than amazing! We arrived early for our reservation and enjoyed the Sugar Plum Bar, which is where our experience began. McKenzie, the mixologist, was very friendly and made the best cocktails! After dinner Ellen, the owner, invited us to enjoy cocktails outside by the fire pit with a comfy complimentary blanket. Just a wonderful and romantic evening!

Hunter House is truly a gem! My husband and I have passed it many times over the years while driving up and down Old Statesville Rd. We booked a dinner reservation at 5:15pm on a Saturday, for our first visit. The house, landscaping/gardens and decor were STUNNING. We sat outside on the covered porch. Our server, Tony, was great and very personable and knowledgeable. The cocktails were delightfully crafted - on par with some of Charlotte’s restaurants and cocktail bars. We ordered the deviled eggs, shrimp and grits, crab cake entree, corn bread and collard greens. Everything was fantastic! After dinner, we headed into the bar and enjoyed a few more drinks. We did not expect to stay until closing time, but we enjoyed talking to Larry, Noah, Zack and even meeting the owner, Ellen! Get to Hunter House ASAP and support local! We will be back.

My husband and I first came to Hunter House as dinner guests and were swept away by the quality of food and service. A couple years later, and a few days ago, we were fortunate enough to have our wedding at this charming home, and it could not have gone better. You don't have to worry about your guests having a wonderful time if you invite them to Hunter House. We were told repeatedly how excellent the food was, how helpful the staff were, and how tasty the drinks were. Everyone was so happy to be a part of this momentous day. Sharon especially made sure that any guests with special dietary needs were accommodated and didn't feel excluded from any moment; when you host a large party, it is all the difference to have the bright, smiling faces of your guests reassure you that everything has gone well. For us, Hunter House made that happen. Thank you so much Sharon and all the staff at Hunter House for making our wedding wonderful.

Ambience and service is impeccable, from the moment you arrive you are wonderfully welcomed. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and ensures that the guests feel cared for. Their enthusiasm and dedication to providing a seamless experience elevates the evening from excellent to extraordinary. Our main entree was a show-stopping cut, grilled to absolute perfection. The steak arrives with a beautifully charred crust, sealing in its rich, buttery flavor. Served with a side of roasted garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, every bite is indulgent and deeply satisfying. The cocktails are beautifully and carefully crafted to pair seamlessly with the meal. If you enjoy whiskey, you have to try their version of the Old Fashioned it is smoked and balanced to perfection. Hunter House & Gardens is not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of fine dining and impeccable service. Every element; from the timeless setting to the artfully prepared dishes contributes to an amazing evening.

Lovely dinner on the patio with great service and delightful food. The attentiveness and courtesy of the staff is perfectly paired with well timed service. Everything came out when it should and as it should. The flavors in every dish have lots of depth to them. We don’t come here often but maybe we should change that! Consistency and service excellence are spot on at hunter house.

I’ve been here twice in one week and I’m so happy to have finally tried what seems to be a Huntersville staple! Everyone from the hostess to the person who led us to our table to the two bartenders to the owner made sure we had a memorable experience! The one thing that stood out about this place is that the experience felt personal! Everyone who worked at the hunter house wanted us to enjoy our time there. Truly a one of a kind place ! Can’t wait to come back!
